Since graduating from a music degree in Leeds, he has been working professionally in London as a musician. ?As a bass player Sam has worked with many bands in varying styles from rock, folk and indie, through pop, soul and jazz, to reggae and ska. He always places emphasis on groove, tone and feel. ??

He has played for various shows including Hairspray, West Side Story, Rent, Oliver, Honk, Godspell, Sweet Charity, Songs for a New World and Fame - at venues such as Richmond Theatre, Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Leeds Riley Smith Hall, Theatre Royal Wakefield and the Beck Theatre Hayes. ??

Sam also played bass for Aldeburgh Music’s world premiere of Anna Meredith’s (famous for her work ‘Froms’ featured in The Last Night of the Proms) Contemporary Opera ‘Tarantula in Petrol Blue.’ ??As well as working with various function bands/jazz groups, he sometimes plays with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
