i saw on a industry site that people were looking for booking agents,

i was wondering when a band and if a band should require the services of one.

what do they actually do apart from the obvious of getting gigs?

do they get you better gigs than you could? supports etc?

what sort of rate do they charge?

is it hard to get one? or more to the point is it hard to get a good one?

just wondering what peoples experiences of them are.
