I've been searching for a synth for awhile that makes those deep, ritch, kinda overdriven sounds. Like QotSA's "Misfit Love". I know that a Little Phatty is used on that track but I was hoping to find an older, more affordable synth for the job. It would also be nice if it had an easy to use interface.

I also want to find a synth to make the same kind of sounds on Liars' "Always Room on the Broom" and "Broom". I'm pretty sure there is some Ring Mod involved in that sound. Is that just Ring Mod on a guitar?

Mabey I could try synth and pedal combos? Does anyone have any suggestions?
