Drummer needed for americana folk alt-country band Wilco, Richmond Fontaine, Okkervil River

armsandhearts [Edit] [Delete] 04:00, 2 August '10

We're looking for a drummer to join our band on a permanent basis. We're an alt-folk/alt-country 6-piece based in London. We're mostly in our early 30s and we've been together just over a year. In that time we've self-released our debut album (to universally positive reviews) and played shows around the UK and Ireland with bands such as The Acorn, Ted Leo, Harper Simon and John Vanderslice. We've a busy few months ahead of us with shows all over the UK and possibly Ireland and we hope to record album number 2 next year.

What we need in a drummer is versatility; someone who is as comfortable driving a song forward as they are holding back and adding light touches with brushes etc. We've been compared to the likes of Smog, Okkervil River, The Mountain Goats, Pale Horse & Rider, Wilco, The Old '97s, Uncle Tupelo and Richmond Fontaine.

We're not interested in mercenaries or session musicians. We're realistically ambitious and while we do make money from our shows, it's far from the most important thing on our agenda so it would be better if it's not the be-all and end-all for you. We're an affable bunch with a good work ethic.
