You The Living need an upright double bass player - must know how to use a bow and a pedalboard. NO PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED!

FilthyLittleCreep [Edit] [Delete] 23:26, 10 October '14

We're a dreamy, noisy electro-industrial duo from Camden Town who are just about to release our debut album. We've had a load of critical acclaim with our singles and EP and our heroes, from members of Adam & the Ants to Filter to Lorde love us to bits. We also have a rather nice industry contact list and a reputation that allows us to make full use of it.

HOWEVER, simply being a cute, lovey-dovey gothy couple can only go so far onstage, especially at the festivals that fill our calendar for the last couple of months of 2014 and beyond. We've just hired my best mate from Cambridge on live drums and Einstürzende Neubauten-esque custom percussion - we just need a double bass player!

Why double bass? My guitar sound covers the bass guitar octaves just fine, but on record we have synth playing an octave lower. In songs like Reprobates (http://soundcloud.com/youtheliving/reprobates), a bowed double bass running through a fuzz pedal would do a great job of replicating the intro-verse synth part, just with a little extra grit and life!

Our influences include Cocteau Twins, the aforementioned Einstürzende Neubauten, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (particularly YFMT and PTSA), Rowland S Howard (sensing a pattern here?), Slowdive, Bauhaus, The Cure, Sigur Ros, Nine Inch Nails and more. It's probably better to listen to our stuff to get an idea of how we sound.
