So in one of those 'can we out-Lucas Lucas' things, they've just released a special boxset of the LOTR trilogy.

Apparently this version gives you both versions of each film plus an extra disc with new documentaries or something.

I love this part of the FAQ about them, though:

This will take more time as well as the participation of the filmmakers to achieve. It is currently not scheduled for release until, at the earliest, 2008.

Committed to maximising the capabilities? Or the profits? :D 2008? Yeah right.
