tour transport advice

dan_thw [Edit] [Delete] 20:28, 28 May '07

my band is going on their first full scale tour in a week, and we're having a bit of trouble deciding how to get around.

We're all under 25 so don't seem to be able to hire a van or minibus, though we can get an estate car it seems, which would be big enough (we aren't taking drums). Though to hire it for a week (we can drive our little ford fiesta for the first week of southern dates) it's about £200 (including insurance). We have to pay for petrol on top of this, as well as food, and will probably only be paid £30 a gig on average.

I think its pretty obvious we're gonna make a loss whatever happens, not that we really mind too much about that, but is there a cheaper way of doing it?

Has anyone ever used a trailer before? How much are they to rent and where would I get one from? Would a Ford Fiesta / Peugeot 205 be able to pull one and 5 people?
