Prole's thread made me interested in how other people find band members.

My band's never ever managed to find anyone through placing adverts, and we've never actually auditioned anyone either. We always seem to just find either friends or friends of friends who are up for playing with us and they somehow seem to fit in.

How do other people do it? Did you advertise/audition for the right line-up or do you somehow find it all clicks into place through some mysterious movement of fate?
