Why isn't paedophilia universally accepted as a sexual orientation? Why is it seen as a bad thing?

In the society we live in, we should be able to recognise that if one person's natural preference in sexuality is younger people, he/she should have the right to practise with any consenting youngsters.

Who are we to say 'its wrong to be attracted to children'? I hope that in the not-too-distant future, we can look back on today's stereotype of paedophiles as outdated and primitive, in the same way we view the homophobic laws we have rid the country of in the last century - unfair and bigoted.
