whats the best way to fix a mirror to a 1983 ford escort wing-mirror casing on the passenger side (whats the jargon for this?).

its the wrong size, and duct tape wont hold it amaingly - its a bit wobbly. should i use toilet rool to fill the void behind said mirror, so it sits nicely in?

i'm looking at you "dads" out there.
