Affecting Other People's Lives Without Realising

dark_truffles [Edit] [Delete] 00:49, 27 June '07

This guy I've known since I was born (he used to live down the road from me, we went to the same school, blah blah) asked me out last year.
I turned him down because although I think he's a nice person and everything, we're just not a good match. I haven't thought anything of it really since. Then today I get an e-mail telling him how much he still loves me (I mean, LOVE?) and hasn't been able to get me out of his head.
He went out with another girl and apparently they split up because he kept comparing her to me. Now, this really shocked me, I had no idea how serious this was for him. I feel terrible, yet really confused at the same time..

I apologise for the soppy teenager gossip feel to this thread and I'm even considering abandoning post, but I'll go ahead with it anyway to find out....
Have you ever become aware of something you've done having a bigger impact than you imagined?

And also, what the hell am I supposed to say in my reply? Would it be incredibly cruel if I didn't reply at all?
