Not from personal experience, but from watching TV/films, and reading the news, why, when some people go into a coma, do they turn the life support machine off, and why sometimes do they let them stay in a coma for decades? I just read an old story on BBC news site about a Polish guy who was in a coma for 19 years, and I've never understood how they decide what to do.
