when i switch it on, the monitor tells me there's "no signal" coming from the PC. i thought it might be the monitor cable, but if i USB up my mp3 player to try and charge it, nothing happens. which suggests to me it's the PC itself.

any suggestions? i still have the windows CD somewhere, if i put that in when booting it will it help?
