I've just been reading the Times online and reading comments about terrorism trials and reading of the perils of Britains 'liberal elite' again. Who exactly are the liberal elite ? Would I be right in thinking anyone who doesn't believe in capital punishment and mass deportations ? Is it just a soundbite, an alternative to neo-cons ?

I am genuinely worried what this country will be like in around fifteen years and beyond. I just don't think the Britain some people envisage, free of crime and terrorism, is going to be possible, certainly not in our lifetimes, and certainly not by pandering to the whims of the hangers and floggers. Evil is amongst us though in the form of islamic extremists so pandering to the elements on the left who are being spun a line by jihadists is also a nobrainer

Does anyone think there is a solution to this ?
