So I've been reading this book about an Italian football from a tiny town in the mountains who somehow got themselves successive promotions and ended up in Serie B in 1996.

It is an absolutely incredible story, and very, very well written (once you get past the fact that it's written by an American and some explanations seem rather elementary).

If it was just a football book, it would be one of the best sports books I've ever read (and it is) - but the events of that season, where the author lived with the team throughout, are so shocking and unexpected... wow. Just wow.

Seriously, if you have even a minor interest in football, read this.
