I need help.

John_Brainlove [Edit] [Delete] 20:28, 12 July '07

Not psychological help, I have already recognised the personality disorders, thanks.

Basically, Brainlove keeps growing and growing at quite a dizzying rate at present. It's gone from just me, to me & Mathew, to me, Mathew & Athol, to me, Mathew, Athol, our lawyer, our press person, our TV plugger, our distributor, our aggregator, our video guy, etc. Loads of people! All with tasks to do, busily getting things done. It's pretty exciting.

However, the work that I have to do has suddenly become a lot harder to get done as I have had to take on a dayjob, sick of being too skint to get a non-bendy bus into town to guest list it into a gig and drink tap water.

So I have a few things I could really use a hand with.

Some of it is in the area of film. Camera, editing, interviewing on camera, uploading onto video sites (I had no idea there were so many until recently), getting the Brainlove vidcast series running on iTunes basically, with help from me and the other Brainlover types.

Some of it is in photography. Any good at band pictures, photographing gigs etc? We always need band pictures - Cardiff, London & Leeds being our main locations. Mostly London.

Some of it is web work - chasing people via email, posting out listings details, thinking of ways to reach people via networking sites, forums, whatevs - we don't have a Sony-sized advertising budget so we have to reach people some other way.

Some of it is helping promote gigs, bands and releases - whether through coming out flyering, proofreading or writing press information, helping stuff envelopes for mailouts, or helping organise things at events, stage management, door, stall... there are a million jobs to be done.

So if anyone feels like helping out for an afternoon a day, an evening, an afternoon a week for a while in any of these areas, Gimme a message. We can't afford to pay, yet, at least not unless you work a gig that's a big success, in which case we'll share, of course. But you'll get a glowing reference, free copies of things that you work on, free entry into some gigs, and a large bobby's police helmet full of gratitude. Or mayonnaise. Whichever you'd prefer.
