Has any one else read this book? I thought it was excellent, a first hand account of some of the darkest moments in the West's history during the 90s. It's also a fantastic piece of idealism being crushed by the reality of the world.

But how annoying is the women in it? She doesn't seem to give a shit about anything, castigates her two male friends for giving a shit about the failings in Rwanda and Bosnia, seems to just want an easy life making money and living in a "tropical paradise" whilst shagging as many ethic men as possible (that whole bit with the Masai WTF no one needed to know about that). She actually made me very angry, to the point where I started to skip her bits completely.

The book has also made me want to leave my job and go and work in a war zone.
