I'm in alone tonight, my sister is staying at my dad's and my mum has gone out. About an hour ago I was in my kitchen and walked through to my living room, passing the front door. I saw my dog lying on the door matt and smiled at her, causing her fluffy tail to wag. Just as I was sitting down onto my couch, I heard the door open. I got up and walked back into the hall, the door was now wide open and I caught a glimpse of my mum's car and assumed she was home much earlier than she was supposed to be, so shouted hello. Then I was aware of footsteps walking away. I suddenly remembered my mum had gone out in her friend's car. I looked out and there was nobody about. My gdog was standing on the doorstep barking her head off by this point.

I don't really know what happened. I think someone must have been coming into my house, then left when they heard me shouting to my mum. I checked the house was empty, then locked all the doors and windows. I feel really freaked out now. Tried to get my mum on the phone, but it's switched off.
