i don`t understand a word anyone`s saying and i now know what it feels like to be totally illiterate!

i can say "i`ll have this please", "have you got any hornbill ivory?", "my name is sam", "it was alright" "that is bad", "what is ___ in english?"?”"where am i?" and "that is cute", and greetings, numbers etc.

think i`ll get by?
