Music Social More…

Garden State

First time I'd watched it after lots of recommendation.

First impressions were fairly good. Although I don't like Zach Boring, the film seemed to be going at a good pace when he was at the party. Then there was a lot of really good music, including The Shins and Zero 7.

But then it all started getting very American-teenager. It went deep, and everyone started talking about 'life' and stuff. That sort of thing really does nothing for me.

If it wasn't for the music, the fairly interesting visuals, and Natalie Portman's performance, it would've been Dawson's Crack dressed up with 'indie cred'.

No doubt it will be referred to as 'cult', because it wasn't big budget.

What did you think of it?
