I have an irrational dislike for most American comedy television shows. I am part of the 'Friends' generation but was instantaneously turned-off by the 'oh my good language' and obvious humour. These two qualities are identifiable in numerous comedies to make the journey from across the pond.

There are some notable exceptions: Frasier, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Daily Show spring to mind. I consider the first to be greatest comedy of recent times. Anyone have any thoughts?
