I suddenly remembered the basic idea of some Friday night BBC one show from 5 to 10 years. It was about Aliens invading earth, think they where black blobs that would grow from a set place. The begining was in London during world war two when a space craft for the things was found. The series ended with them using a nuke to kill them.

Am I imaging this existed, is my descrption to vague for anyone to remember or should I find a more productive way to spend my afternoon
