My regular "Facebook Paranoia" thread

I think I paste variations on this every few days but here we go:

So I'm on Facebook and all these old schoolfriends have added me. I've noticed from other people's pages the etiquette seems to be to have a conversation with them and find out what they're up to but I can't really be arsed, on top of which I can see what they're up to via their own pages and other people's pages where they've answered "what are you up to?"

As a point of etiquette is accepting a friend request and then not talking to them considered rude?
