I think I might buy some on-ear headphones to use with my iPod. But I'm not really massively into deconstructing and evaluating sound quality etc

So my question is this: For a simple man such as myself, who enjoys simple pleasures and simple... stuff, would paying 30 odd quid for a pair of headphones be worth it? Like, is it a better listening experience strolling around with a pair of them on rather than those super-irritating and intrusive ones everyone wears?
