Is this necessarily a wasted talent?

I'm not a Formula 1 fan at all but I found that article quite interesting 'cos we always think of sports men or musicians or whoever who don't quite push on and become hugely successful, but have the ability to do so, as wasting their talent but if - as sounds like the case - the person involved is enjoying their life does it really matter?

Is it so wrong to not have ambitions to get to the very top but to satisfy yourself with moderate success and lifestyle you enjoy?
