i've stuck with itunes 1.7 or so on my computer (no updates thanks) since my first ipod(now stolen), but as i'm about to pick up my new sexy one from the post office, i'd imagine i'll need the latest version itunes?

will it mess up the playlists on my current one?
what's your beef with it?
