Lunch with Prole: does the amount of technology you have make you somehow a big music fan?

prole-art-threat [Edit] [Delete] 14:06, 14 August '07

Ok so you see someone walking down the street and you see a 'Toby' in massive headphones with a 30,000 song I-pod who also has a laptop an I-phone (pending) and a Blackberry (well even the proles are getting their small, hateful stubby fingers on these) and you think, 'access to all forms of media especially music' and you know they'll have thousands of downloads and you'll think - 'does this make them a massive music fan, and probably bigger than me because I only have a 1000 song i-pod and my headphones are shit'?

Is it an age old thingy dating back to when people who had radiograms AND a transistor radio were probably seen as Winifred Atwell completists? - anyway today's LwP is this: does having all the right and or/top range media somehow make you a bigger music fan than someone with an old CD (OLD!) Walkman and about 50 albums? Well?
