sampler help?

cotty [Edit] [Delete] 21:49, 15 August '07

hello, maybe you can help me?

yes, you!

i'm looking around at hardware samplers (im not a friend o' computers), and most of them are jolly sophisticated! lord knows i'm far too simple to understand them. I also cannot go into local music shops for help because i always go in there and play with their toys, and rarely buy them.

they are definitely starting to recognise me, and my friend who is a shop keeper says that the staff have secret in-jokes about the regular lurkers. now, i'm a very sensitive fellow, and would like to avoid becoming an in-joke, thankyouverymuch. not unlike that fat diabetic man who used to hang around a cafe, when i worked there. i knew a lot more about him than he realised.

anyway. i want one that will let me attatch a midi keyboard, then sample me saying a word (for example: 'dog'), and let me play that word up and down the keyboard as different notes, a bit like Bill Bailey does on 'Part Troll'. (this is different to just using the keyboard to trigger samples or sequences, which is what most of them are geared towards. apparently.)

does anyone know of a sampelr that lets you do this, that isn't a bank-breaker?

i would love you forever if you were to tell me about it.

yours,
cotty.
