News Censorship

wrightylew [Edit] [Delete] 20:00, 16 August '07

Channel 4 have pulled a few programmes in the past few years, because of fear of provoking racial trouble by showing them.

There was a video doing the rounds in Burnley in about 2003/4, of a Dispatches programme showing Muslim clerics preaching to people to attack British citizens, just while Iraq was kicking off. It was very explicit, and it wasn't surprising that they didn't show it.

But where do you stand on it? Do you think that if something risks provoking trouble on a relatively high scale, it should be pulled? Or do you think it should be shown regardless?
