A few weeks back I was having a drunken conversation with my friend Bert about 'l'esprit d'escalier'

the french term for when you think of a witty comeback slightly too late to actually use it.

The idea we came up with was to create a website where people could submit a description of the situation, along with the comeback they thought of (and what they actually said). Other people could read them, perhaps find them amusing and, who knows, they could even be re-used by others who find themselves in a similar situation?

I've now made this site using wordpress and have placed it here:
