Swearing in the future

doctornovocalcords [Edit] [Delete] 17:25, 22 August '07

when I was at school I didn't know many people who used the word cunt. It was considered pretty bad. Now loads of people use it regularly, even at work, in public and on film/TV. I say it a fair bit although my moralistic upbringing sometimes ensures a slight twinge of concern.
What happens to swearing when all existing words become acceptable? Do people just make do or do they perhaps start to confront different taboos and whatnot? Maybe they make new words although that would be stupid. What are we to do?!
