[dullcentric] - rent rises

MirriLondon [Edit] [Delete] 23:41, 22 August '07

1. How often does/has your landlord put your rent up in the past, and by what %. Would also be useful to hear how long you've been there if you don't mind saying.

2. Would you think it's acceptable to raise your rent by the entire amount the management company have decided to impose on owners tenants - I'm talking
potentially £1200 a year / £100 a month. They already pay £1200 a year so their managing fee is doubling. This is mainly due to works done in the past I believe plus some cock up with stupid insurance policies.

I'm in a flat that I love - usually I'd just up and move again, but god damn it I've moved like 17 times already in my adult life and I'm sick of it. Plus the flat is lovely.

I don't know what he's proposing yet but I'm pretty certain it's gonna be £100 a month or more - and I really don't know if it's the norm to just accept what they say or else bugger off so your experiences below may help. It's not an amount I can really easily afford either.
