Leicester City tonight

domgourlay [Edit] [Delete] 01:06, 29 August '07

Just got back. Still not sure what to make of tonight's events. If you're not sure what I'm talking about this might give you a clue http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_cup/6963502.stm
We (Nottingham Forest) were actually playing well for a change and tearing Leicester apart. 1-0 up at half time against our local rivals; a team, a league and several millions of pounds worth of player higher, surely more goals to come, then this. The press release at 10pm by Leicester City Football Club stated that in light of this weekend's events in Seville, their players did not wish to continue the game. Would they have felt the same way if they'd been in control of the game and a goal to the good? Or would they have wanted to win the match for their stricken team mate? Obviously the cynics among us will draw their ow conclusions. I just hope tonight's events were a genuine concern for an employee's welfare otherwise a dangerous precedent has been set for any future sporting event.
