people on other forums that epitomise everything you hate about a band that you're supposed to like

I'm a Divine Comedy fan, but I've never been able to get along with their forums. Although I've met a hardcore of about six or seven other fans from the board who I all like, sometimes over there it can get supercilious... full of irritating prats trying to be 'witty' or 'clever' in a kind of 'RICHARD CURTIS' kind of way. In other words, showing exactly the kind of characteristics that some people dislike about the Divine Comedy's music. Even though, three-quarters of the time at least, those people are wrong.

It honestly does read like a constant 'Mock the Week' transcript over there - Hugh Dennis trying to out-funny Ed Byrne and other 3,500 year-old 'comedians'.

Fuckers.

Anyone else had any similar experiences or is this one a bit too specific?
