Music Social More…

a question for music reviewers

restlessboy [Edit] [Delete] 12:22, 4 September '07

How do you listen to a record you've been given to review?

(pause for joke answers)

Do you sit down and give it your full attention for one or more plays - possibly making notes on it?

or

Just put it on like you would any other record and carry on with whatever else you're doing? see if something filters through in the context of your day to day hoovering/ironing?

also:

If you hated or were largely indifferent to a record after one play would you feel an obligation to listen to it again to give it a chance?

Over what period of time do you 'live with' a record before you feel qualified to comment on it?

NB - no specific review has prompted this question.
