Not sure how I feel on this one. I guess it depends on how "personal" a piece of art feels to it's creator. I don't see any logic not to use Gills' typeface or the "how to use the recorder" books but if someone made incredibly personal art and that person was, say, raping children regularly it might be a very different thing.
