Finding a sum of money

Judge_B [Edit] [Delete] 10:45, 7 September '07

I noticed a £20 note on the floor not far outside work this morning, and there was a lady just in front of me and so I asked her if she had dropped it. She not only said no, she swore at me and walked off. There was no-one else about at the time, and in picking it up I realised that there were more folded up notes inside the first note. Now, it isn't a massive sum of money, but it is enough that you would notice if you couldn't find it later. There is no way of knowing whether it was dropped by someone from my building, the other buildings on the same business park or just a passer-by. What to do?

I'm not in desperate need of it, and if it were possible I would rather that the person that lost it were reunited with it. I can't see how I could ever find them, though. I've found a similar amount of money before and tried to hand it in at the cop shop, only to be told not to bother by the desk jockey themselves.

Well?
