Is London British?

smallpox_champion [Edit] [Delete] 13:17, 10 September '07

On another forum I post on some guy from Yorkshire made the comment;

"Yorkshire is still a British county, but the same certainly can't be said of London being a British city: it's a "World city" and, to me, as foreign as Baghdad or Kabul."

This got me thinking (well it was in response to me saying London is great for having "drugs and chicken shops" but that's another issue...) and I can't really see London as anything but British. Whilst it is certainly diverse and multicultural there is so much history, culture and, well, Britishness in it walking around the centre makes me feel I am in Britain more than anywhere else.

What do you all think?
