Whilst queing in Sainsbury's at lunchtime I noticed the slightly meloncholic gent in front of me was purhcasing a loaf of really cheap white bread and a really dirt cheap bottle of vodka and some value jaffa cake things. Since then all I've thought about is a broken man sitting in a frowsy old bedsit eating starchy nasty bread and washing it down with vodka as another day of his life ticks pointlessly out of existence. Don't you find yourself being hanuted into working out the sad scenarios based on people's sometimes woeful and shamefaced purhcases at the checkout or am I just not End of The Road enough?
