1) Sainsbury's Basics - Ground Coffee.

Wowwee! Something from the Sainsbury's Basics range that doesn't suck the big one! This is actually very nice coffee with a nutty kind of flavour. Don't be put off by the packaging, it's fine! And cheap.

2) Wilkinson's Sword 3D Razor

I know Gilette is, as they constantly remind us, The Best A Man Can Get, but standing looking at the razor blades in Sainsbury's I can't help but notice that they are easily the most expensive a man can get as well. So after the success on the budget coffee front I thought I'd give the little guy a chance in the shaving department too. It does, after all, have a twizzly 3D head that guarantees getting into all the little face nooks that plague you a few minutes after you leave the house when you realise you have a (probably invisible) tuft on the bottom of your chin that will nevertheless vex you all day.

But holy crap, this thing is a little plastic horror. A few minutes into the shave, the blade is clogged to shit and it feels like the razor is pulling the hairs out of your face individually. After rinsing the blade furiously under a red hot tap on full blast to no visible effect, I put in my second new blade, only to have that clog up too, with the hairs getting trapped behind those stupid little wires that are supposed to stop you cutting yourself.

I end up finishing the job with and old Gilette disposable razor, which actually works better.
