Gurdan Thomas had a novel way of attracting people to their gig at The Flapper in Birmingham. Starting from the Yardbird they marched with trumpet, trombone, clarinet and drum through Centenary Square, past the Symphony Hall and up to the gig, handing out leaflets for the gig on the way and ending up on the stage of the Flapper.
