After withdrawing £300 to put a deposit down on my new flat I went to a sandwich bar and ordered a sandwich. I then realised I had no cash on me. I went to a cash machine but, having drawn £300 earlier, the machine blocked me from taking out any more money today.

I was then forced to return to the sandwich bar and sheepishly explain this admit I could not get any money to pay £2.50 for my sandwich. I was just about to leave, hungry and empty-handed, when a middle-aged woman put her hand on my shoulder and offered to give me some money to pay for my lunch.

I gratefully accepted this offer and thus was able to eat.

People are ace sometimes.
