A while back I was with some mates around Notting Hill- we pulled up, looked for the parking meter, but it was broken, so we did the hotline thing, got the text, and thought it was sorted.

When we got back, we had a ticket. Called them up, and the girl on the other end said something about their system being fucked, and that we'd have to appeal the fine.

The appeal has now been turned down, and we have to pay eighty quid...

The confirmation text was deleted by my slightly retarded mate.

Any suggestions? Is there a way of retrieving deleted texts? If I DO have to pay this fine, what can I smash of theirs to the value of eighty quid?
