Lunch with Prole: 'Gig' in Dalston Oxfam

prole-art-threat [Edit] [Delete] 14:32, 1 October '07

COOOL/KEWL. Unless you've been in there that is. Ok its got some interesting choices of records but the stink, the smell the frowsy air that hits you isn't really yay-how-DIY-am-I? is it? Why are charity shops of interest to people who aren't actually interesting? I've always thought that, JUNK SHOP CLOTHES WILL GET YOU NOWHERE, and yet I too use them on a regular basis, always have always will, I mean I got Ultravox Greatest hits AND Tesla Girls by OMD last time I went on one, and one of my first buys from a charity shop was a pair of soft leather cuban heels for 2.50 an absolute BARG. But there's something about reading in The Guardian about a gig being held in a really rundown dirty hope-free Oxfam in Dalston and the words 'Fatboy Slim' and 'Javis Cocker' that just makes me feel a bit uneasy for some reason. Why is this?

And if anyone says 'interesting people go to charity shops' I'll scream.
