This morning I went to get a croissant from a Deli France round the corner from my office. On the approach a waft of delicious cooked meat filled my nostrils and I said to the girl I was with, very innocently 'I smell bacon'. At this point 2 police officers stood infront of me turned around and did not look impressed. Blushing I apologised and re-iterated the fact that I genuinely could smell bacon and invited them to smell for themselves - which they did.

I don't know if they believed me. Still, good story.
