I hate it. I went to a record fair today and bought an LP. It was a tenner but I thought "what the hell" so I bought it. All during the transaction, the nerdy record guy was grinning his smug git face off. As I was a walking away he went "Hey, wait! Discount!" and he gave me a pound back. Obviously felt slightly sorry for ripping me off.
Serves me right for knowing nothing about records/ not haggling.

When I got home I found the same thing on ebay for about £3.50, and realised I didnt want it that much anyway.
