If I buy a camera from A.N. Other shit electronics store on the way out to Australia can I get it tax free and take it with me and stuff, or do I have to leave it there and claim it on the way back?

I'm assuming the former but we are talking about Britain here so being totally fucked up the ass when it comes to technology just feels like the norm, eh?
