'Australia but have lived here 8 years.' (if I had a pound for every time I have been asked this)
'Oh - you have a bit of a twang but I can't make it out..'
'Yes, it depends on who I am talking to, or how many beers I've had.' (WHY did I say this? Jesus - first thing that popped into my head)
Amused expression and really looking at me now. 'And how many beers have you had today?' (meanwhile my line manager is standing there also looking at me)
'Err, none.'

*cue extreme embarassment*

It's just not really the kind of thing that is said to the Global Head of what you do...
