Being dropped

LordLuciusBanter [Edit] [Delete] 13:20, 19 October '07

So, I got an e-mail yesterday from my rugby captain telling me that because of the final and that, loads of people want to play and in a league game he can only field 18 players. So in spite of being in the original starting line up, I had been dropped as he had to give priority to those who play every week and I had missed last week's game.

Fine, not nice, but he seemed heartfelt so I'd take it on the chin. But then I saw the new team and he'd picked over me a guy a lot more talented who hasn't played all year. In fact the team is full of people who haven't played at all this year.

So how am I to feel? I'm not a great player by any stretch of the imagination, but I turn up week in, week out and slog myself stupid for absolutely no recognition. I know the captain doesn't really rate me, and I know he doesn't really like me personally, so I'm thinking maybe I should just pack it all in. I could find another team, but I like playing with my mates, but apparently I'm not good enough to any more.

Should I kick it all to touch?
