I was very interested by this article:

It's about disabled people going to brothels to lose their virginity and thus, to their minds, gain confidence about sexual experiences.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I mean obviously disabled people have every right to go to a legal brothel if they choose to do so but I'm not convinced it's a solution to anything.

I've grew with (and still in fact have) some disabilities which, although aren't things anyone would know about if they met me in the street, do make it psychologically, and maybe to an extent physically, complicated to get 'intimate' with people and it certainly holds me back (more through how I feel than how anyone else feels to be honest, which I don't think the article takes into account) but I'm pretty sure paying for sex would feel like charity rather than a solution to anything and I don't see how it'd make someone psychologically more comfortable about being able to get into a sexual relationship with people.

Anyway thoughts on this subject?
